UpdateAttribute redeclares a field, applying only the properties named in the patch; an empty patch writes all of them and so resets whatever the request left blank. Moving a field within the profile is an ordinary write of its position here rather than a dedicated operation, and since positions stay contiguous the other fields shift to make room.
