CopyContest duplicates an existing contest into a new one in the same space and returns the new ID, which is the usual way to run the same set of problems again. The requested copy scopes decide how much of the source is carried over; results of past participation are never copied, so copied participants start clean. The name and visibility of the copy are given in the request rather than inherited.
